GCC Healthtech Investment Update
Healthcare technology startups across the GCC attracted US$148 million in disclosed investment between January 2025 and July 2026.
This highlights growing investor interest in the region’s healthtech sector. This is what i add.
PitchBook reports that 32 healthtech companies across five GCC markets secured funding.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia led with 17 funded companies, followed by the UAE with 11.
Investment has focused on digital health, telehealth, women’s health and AI-driven diagnostics (what i add).
The trend will be highlighted at WHX Tech, taking place from 26–28 January 2027 at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Additionally, the event will bring together startups, investors, healthcare leaders and technology companies.
It will focus on AI, health data, cybersecurity, connected care and digital health.
Tugce Ergul, Founding Partner of Hypernova Capital, said the GCC is increasingly shifting from being a buyer of healthcare innovation. It is becoming a builder of it.
She highlighted developments in genomics, precision medicine and clinical research in Abu Dhabi. Saudi Arabia’s efforts in vaccines, biologics manufacturing and pharmaceutical localization were also noted.

She said these sandboxes and programs help startups pilot technologies with institutional partners faster than in North America.
WHX Tech will address these opportunities through its Investor Program and Xcelerate Startup Competition.
Additionally, it will connect startups with investors, healthcare organizations and potential technology partners.
Lorena Diaz Palle, Event Director of WHX Tech, said the event aims to connect emerging healthcare technologies with investors. Additionally, it also links policymakers, healthcare decision-makers and technology partners to move innovations from development to adoption and scale.
